SAO connects employers with the employment and training services required to recruit and advance workers with the right essential, technical, and employability skills. It also supports jobseekers to obtain employment by providing them with sector-specific employment and training services, and connecting them to the right employers.

SKILLS2ADVANCE Graduates Are Equipped With

Certifications: 

Graduates earn a certificate of completion from Conestoga College, Brant Skills Centre and Skills2Advance. 

- Forklift & Reach Truck Certification

- Fall Arrest Training

- First Aid CPR Training

- AODA

- Workplace Health and Safety

- Covid-19 Awareness Training

Technical Skills:

Skills2Advance Graduates learn industry vetted skills and courses directly contributing to their success at future places of employment: 

- Fundamentals of Material Handling

- Fundamentals of Shipping and Receiving

- Fundamentals of Dispatching

- Continuous Improvement Processes

Professional Skills: 

Skills2Advance curriculum emphasizes professionalism in the workplace. Participants learn and practice customer service, workplace communication, networking, personal branding & social media, effective presentation skills, teamwork, conflict resolution and more!

Skills2Advance is a feedback based workforce development program. The goal is to take your industry experience and expertise and turn it into actionable curriculum changes to create an effective training program.

Step 2: 

KEEP US UPDATED ON YOUR WORKFORCE NEEDS

Keeping us updated will facilitate a quicker transition from the program into your workforce. Employers have the opportunity to present their organization to the class, conduct interviews and hire individuals for a trial period.

Step 3: 

PARTICIPANT HIRING AND COLLECTION OF BUSINESS TRAINING INCENTIVE

Once the participant has successfully onboarded and both parties are happy with the situation. Employers can collect a hiring incentive to offset their hiring costs.
