Not in school
Interested in a career in Manufacturing & Warehousing
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Living in Grand Erie region
Can lift up to 50 lbs
Can stand for long periods of time
Low to medium computer, math & literacy level
Can commit to 7 weeks of training, Mon-Fri, between 8:30-4:30
Very comfortable using computers & other related technology
Able to learn online
Unemployed
or
Working less than 20 hours a week
or
Living on low household income
or
Currently working, but facing challenges in employment

Material Handler
Handle, move, load and unload materials 50 lbs or less and over 100 lbs with a variety of materials handling equipment.
Manufacturing Associate
Operate and maintain equipment in a factory or warehouse and prepare items, involves assembling. and checking product parts.
Quality Assurance
Maintain the desired level of quality in a service or product, especially by means of attention to every stage of the process.
Shipper & Receiver
Manually ship, receive and record the movement of parts, supplies, materials, equipment and stock to and from an area.
Inventory Associate
Use basic communication, math and literacy skills to operate technology to co-ordinate and count products.
Production Operator
Use equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line.

A SkillsAdvance Ontario (SAO) Program
This pilot project is intended to support workforce development in identified key growth sectors. It is funded by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development and the Government of Canada.
Warehousing-logistics is Brantford-Brant's 4th largest employer and is expected to grow. Employment in the Transportation and Warehousing sector grew between Feb 2020 and June 2020. One of the very few sectors growing in 2020.
